Submission
The submission deadline was May 21, 2026. Decisions were rendered June 29.
Program
The conference will run from approximately 9:00 to 18:45 local time on Friday, including a reception afterward, and from 8:00 to 18:00 on Saturday. The full program is now available here.
Registration and Fees
Please register for the conference at https://editorialexpress.com/conference/nauea2026/. Presenters should register using the same username as when they submitted.
Deadlines: Registration for presenters closed July 22. For non-presenting attendees, registration closes on September 10.
Fees: The registration fees for the conference are:
- Regular participants: $395 until September 2, $475 until registration closes on September 10.
- Students: $195 until September 2, $240 until registration closes on September 10.
- Registration may be possible after September 10 at the local organizers' discretion: regular participants $550 and students $300.
- We are not able to offer travel grants, fee waivers, or other funding support for attendance.
Cancellation policy: Registrants who cancel their registration prior to September 2 must pay a cancellation charge of 50% (plus currency conversion and transfer fees). Registrations cannot be cancelled after September 2.
Travel to the United States
Participants who need a visa to travel to the United States should apply as soon as possible.

The conference will take place at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. The nearest CTA train stations are Quincy on the Brown, Orange, Pink, and Purple lines, and Jackson on the Red and Blue lines. All sessions and keynote addresses, along with meals and the Friday evening reception, will occur on the third-floor conference center. Participants should enter through the main entry on LaSalle Street, and should allow for some extra time to pass through Fed security.
Transportation
Most of the recommended conference hotels are a short walk from the Chicago Fed. The Chicago Fed, and the downtown Loop area in general, are easily accessible via subway on the CTA lines. Taxi/rideshares are also easy to catch from each airport, but driving time can vary widely depending on the time of day that you arrive (from between 25 to 45 minutes from Midway airport, and 40 minutes to over an hour from O'Hare).
From O'Hare airport: follow the signs to the CTA Blue Line to the city and take any train to the Jackson CTA stop. The Chicago Fed is a two-block walk west from the Jackson St exit (about a 50-60 minute ride).
From Midway airport: follow the signs to the CTA Orange Line to the city (Loop-bound trains) and take the train to the Quincy CTA stop. The Chicago Fed is right next to the station, and the LaSalle St entrance is one block east (about a 25-35 minute ride).
Parallel Sessions and Loading Slides
In parallel sessions with discussants, 20-minute presentations are followed by a 5-minute discussion and 5 minutes for audience questions and comments. In parallel sessions without discussants, 25-minute presentations are followed by 5 minutes for audience questions and comments. Presenters should be in the room 15 minutes before the session starts. Each room is equipped with a projector.
Session chairs are responsible for bringing a laptop and loading the presentations for their session on their laptop. The Chicago Fed will have adapters if needed to connect to the projectors. Presenters must transfer their PDF or PPT file to the chair's computer by email, download, or USB stick.
Reception and Dinner
The reception (including dinner) on Friday evening will be held in the third-floor atrium of the Chicago Fed following the Friday keynote address.
For those arriving on September 24, there will also be an informal happy hour from 5–8pm at Theory, 9 W Hubbard St, Chicago, IL 60654 (map). The bar is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Chicago Fed, just across the river in the River North neighborhood of Chicago.
WiFi access
Free WiFi access is available via the Chicago Fed's internal guest WiFi network. Instructions for accessing the network are available throughout the session rooms.
Accommodation
There are many hotels within walking distance of the conference venue. The following hotels are recommended: Club Quarters Central Loop, JW Marriott Chicago, Kimpton Gray Hotel, Hyatt Centric The Loop Chicago, The Palmer House Hilton, Residence Inn Chicago Downtown/Loop, Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, The LaSalle Chicago, and Canopy by Hilton Chicago Loop. Surroundings
The Chicago Fed is located in the heart of Chicago's Loop, or central business district. There are a variety of bars and restaurants within a few blocks of the Fed, and several major landmarks and points of interest, such as the Willis Tower and the Chicago Lakefront, are a short walk away as well. There are also many additional bar and dining options in the nearby West Loop, River North/Streeterville, and Gold Coast neighborhoods.
