Submission

The submission deadline was May 30, 2025. The program committee will notify authors about their decisions in early July.

Travel to Canada

Participants who require a visa to travel to Canada should apply NOW. Please refer to the official website of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for more detailed information. If required, an invitation letter can be obtained by emailing Kris Behrens (behrens.kristian@uqam.ca). Letters can only be issued to registered participants. Please indicate 'Visa UEA 2025' in the subject of the email and include your proof of registration along with your nationality and passport number.

The conference will take place at the central campus of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM). The nearest metro station is Berri-UQAM, which offers direct underground access to the university. Registration and coffee breaks will be held in the “Pavillon De-Sève” (DS) building, the parallel sessions in the DS and R buildings, and the lunch breaks in the A building. The three buildings are located within two blocks of each other and are connected both by streets and underground passages, as shown on the conference map. To enter the DS building, please use the main entrance at 320 Sainte-Catherine Street East.

The keynote sessions will take place in another building on campus, in the Salle Pierre-Mercure at UQAM's Centre Pierre-Péladeau. The Centre Pierre Péladeau is one block away from the DS building.

Transportation

From the airport: take a taxi or the 747-shuttle bus to the downtown bus terminal. The shuttle's terminal is within walking distance of UQAM.
From the Gare Centrale railway station: take the orange line of the subway in the direction of Montmorency and exit at Berri-UQAM, which offers direct underground access to the university.
Transport strike: There will be no bus and metro service during off-peak hours on Friday, October 3, due to a planned strike.

Registration and Fees

Registration for presenters and non-presenting attendees will open in early July, concurrent with the announcement of accepted papers.

Please register for the conference at https://editorialexpress.com/conference/nauea2025/. Presenters should register using the same username as when they submitted.

Deadlines: Presenters must register by July 31 to be included in the program. Registration for non-presenting attendees closes September 19.

Fees: The registration fees for the conference are:

Cancellation policy: Registrants who cancel their in-person registration prior to September 10, 2025 must pay a cancellation charge of 50% (plus transfer and currency conversion). Registrations cannot be cancelled after September 10.

Parallel Sessions and Loading Slides

In parallel sessions, 20-minute presentations are followed by a 5-minute discussion and 5 minutes for audience questions and comments. Presenters should be in the room 15 minutes before the session starts. Each room is equipped with a projector. Session chairs are responsible for bringing a laptop and loading the presentations for their session on their laptop. Presenters must transfer their PDF or PPT file to the chair's computer by email, download, or USB stick.

Student Prize Sessions

Two sessions on Friday morning will feature the finalists of the student prize competition. The winner(s) of the student prize will be announced during the conference.

Reception and Dinner

The reception (including dinner) on Friday evening will be held at the Salon urbain, a venue located in the heart of Montréal's Quartier des spectacles, directly adjacent to Place des Arts. At the heart of Montreal’s cultural complex, the venue regularly hosts receptions, concerts, and events tied to the city's artistic life. Its location offers a unique opportunity to experience the creative pulse of downtown Montréal. Reaching the Salon urbain requires a 10-minute walk from the conference venue.

There are many hotels in the neighborhoods including Hotel ZERO1, Hilton Garden Inn, DoubleTree by Hilton, or Best Western Plus Hotel that can be found on usual platforms such as booking.com. You can also check the rooms of the ITHQ hotel school.
