Conference format

Public health conditions permitting, we plan to conduct the conference entirely in person.

Travel to Canada

Participants who need a visa to travel to Canada should apply as soon as possible. Please contact Stephan Heblich, the local organizer for an invitation letter. This Government of Canada webpage provides further information on Canada's entry and visa requirements.

Registration and catering services will be located on the third floor at the Park Hyatt Hotel. Parallel sessions will take place on the second and third floors. This floorplan will help you navigate.

Transportation

The Park Hyatt Toronto is situated at the crossroads of Avenue Road and Bloor Street. The two closest subway stations are St George and Museum. If you arrive at Toronto Pearson International Airport, there are two public-transit options. First, you can take the UP Express train to Union Station and transfer to subway line 1 Yonge-University (direction Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station) and get off at Museum Station. Second, you can take the Airport Express bus (number 900) to Kipling Station, where you change to subway line 2 and get off at St George Station. If you arrive at Billy Bishop airport, you can take the shuttle bus or streetcar to Union Station, change to subway line 1 Yonge-University (direction Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station) and get off at Museum Station.

Registration and Fees

Please register for the conference at https://editorialexpress.com/conference/uea2023/. Presenters should register using the same username as when they submitted.

Deadlines: Presenters must register by August 7 to be included in the program. Registration for non-presenting attendees closes September 28.

Fees: The registration fees for the conference are:

Cancellation policy: Registrants who cancel their in-person registration prior to September 1, 2023 must pay a cancellation charge of 50% (plus transfer and currency conversion). Registrations cannot be cancelled after September 1.

Parallel Sessions and Loading Slides

In parallel sessions, 20-minute presentations are followed by a 5-minute discussion and 5 minutes for audience questions and comments. Presenters should be in the room 15 minutes before the session starts. Each room is equipped with a projector. Session chairs are responsible for bringing a laptop and loading the presentations for their session on their laptop. Presenters must transfer their PDF or PPT file to the chair's computer by email, download, or USB stick.

Student Prize Sessions

Two sessions on Friday morning will feature the finalists of the student prize competition. The winner(s) of the student prize will be announced during the conference.

Reception and Catering

Breakfast, lunch, and coffee will be provided at the conference venue on both days of the conference. Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions.

The reception will take place at the Rotman School of Management from 6:30 to 9:00pm on Friday, October 7, 2022. Afterwards, there is an option to move on to the Duke of York where we have reserved some space. This map shows all three locations along with walking directions.

Accommodation

There are a limited number of reduced-rate hotel rooms available on a first-come, first-served basis at the Park Hyatt. In addition, the following hotels are conveniently near the conference hotel:

The Park Hyatt Toronto is close to the subway stops Museum (Line 1) and St. George (Line 1 and Line 2). More hotels are available along the two subway lines.
